My husband's a Fashion Critique

This is me without the head. I kindly asked my hubby to take a shot of me so I can blog about my recent shopping spree. I purposely left out the head as my face didn't look decent enough for posting.

Anyway, last weekend, I went shopping for my clothes to wear in the Philippines anytime soon. My wardrobes are getting outdated and, therefore, need a little makeover. I usually take shorts, tank tops, camisoles, cotton skirts, and one formal outfit in case I get invited to a wedding, baptism, or go out on a formal dinner. The shorts, tank tops, I can re-wear but definitely not the dresses, sandals, and shoes.

I like this particular dress because it looks comfortable, simple, and the price was reasonable. One problem though, my husband thinks that the necklace doesn't complement the dress well. He said the necklace camouflages the dress, which makes it hard to notice. Huh? How well does he know about fashion? Was he right?I would have been perfectly happy with my choice had my husband not said those words. Now, I am contemplating on exchanging it to maybe yellow necklace with just a few touch of green. That means another long trip to the valley. What do you think?

That's a pretty dress! Very nice! Hmm, the necklace is nice too but I do agree with your hubby that it's lost because it's in the same colour tone as your dress. What if you twirl it another round to make it shorter? How would that look?

well, maybe, just maybe, the necklace should have been a shorter, simpler one. dress is ok, sexy belle

when you come to manila, drop a line, who knows, we could even meet up with other blogger friends.

Green...love that color! But sorry Belle, hubby S is right. A shorter one, maybe in 2 or 3 layers would be fine...or a necklace with a long pendant leading to your cleavage would be even better. And it doesn't have to be in green. Try combination of colors found in your dress other than green...or maybe other good color combination for green. I've noticed, fashion these days no longer requires a well-coordinated ensemble from head to toe. I mean, di na uso terno lahat sa kulay, boring yun. :)

sesame and dine,

now that i see the whole ensemble in the picture, i think you both are right, shorter necklace is better. thanks! i'll see what i can do.

thanks cruise! i usually struggle coping on the philippine weather the first few days upon arrival. i sweat profusely so i dress as little and lighter as possible.

Hi Belle.

Just bloghopped from Cruise :) Anyway I like the color of your dress. Why don't you try a necklace made from small black and green beads. Just the small ones. I think it will look really good :) Just a suggestion :)

The dress looks really nice on you, Belle! I guess the problem with the necklace is that you can't see it really well with that dress.

I can see why you look great (even without the head) in that dress; probably because of all the great fish dish you eat (from post above).
You look fit. And btw, you daughter looks great and i love her song and her voice.

I love your new dress. Very pretty. It compliments your nice figure.

I think it would be nicer if you can use a necklace with a different color since a green necklace on a green dress doesn't quite make the accessory stand out.

Or maybe, like what the others said, a shorter necklace might just do the trick.

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.
